A/Prof Amanda Saracino is a clinical and academic dermatologist working in Melbourne. Her areas of clinical and research expertise are the skin manifestations of autoimmune rheumatic diseases, including Scleroderma and Lupus. Amanda leads the Dermatology Connective Tissue Disease service at St Vincent’s Hospital and is the Scleroderma Skin Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
A/Prof Saracino has a PhD in the molecular aetiopathogenesis of morphoea (also referred to as localised scleroderma) from University College London, and morphoea remains one of her biggest clinical and research passions.
This presentation will explore the diverse clinical presentations of morphoea in both children and adults, highlighting diagnostic challenges and delays. It will then delve into tailored management strategies based on morphoea subtypes and presentations, and conclude with an overview of current research developments and emerging treatments in the field.
